Vintage Craft Books

I've been busy cleaning and sorting my sewing room so I can actually get to everything in here, especially my book shelf. I pulled out all my vintage embroidery and stitchery books. So much inspiration in each of these.

Block Printing Fabric

I've been playing around with my stamps on fabric. Not quite sure what I'll use them for yet, but they are ready for when inspiration strikes.

Change and Rebranding - Kate Henderson Quilts

At the start of the year I made the decision to change by business name over to Kate Henderson Quilts. It wasn't a hard decision, it perfectly describes what I do. With a name change I really needed a new logo. Lucky I know an excellent graphic designer (Jeff at Bridgetown Design and Print).
Here it is!
Jeff also designed these fantastic business cards with quilt blocks on the back.
Eva has been busy designing new quilts with them.

I'm updating my quilt patterns and making new ones and they should be available soon!

Paper Pieced Trees

I'd originally planned to carve a tree or leaf stamp the other day. I was sketching ideas when I decided to draft a paper piecing pattern instead. I had a quick google for EQ7 tutorials, found this one and had this is what I came up with. A winter tree.
And then an autumn tree.
And then a little tree mini quilt of Cotton and Steel fabrics.
I love how a new obsession with rubber stamp carving has led to me expanding my quilting and designing skills.

More Carved Stamps

I think I'm slightly obsessed.

Little Flower Cushion

And another thing finished. A cushion appliquéd with little paper pieced flowers. The backing has been in my stash for ages waiting for the right project (I think it might be Kokka).
So now I can start a new paper piecing project!

Everglade Cushion

I'm trying to finish some of the WIPs in my sewing room. (It's getting a little crowded in here). So I turned my Everglade mini quilt into a cushion. (Pattern is Everglade by Carolyn Friedlander).
I just wanted it finished so I didn't even worry about batting and quilting. I just made some piping from the same fabric I used for the batting, followed the tutorial for the backing from Sew Mama Sew and it was done! Onto the next WIP.

Carving Rubber Stamps

It's been a while since I caved a stamp and did some printing, but I recently dug through the cupboard and found my supplies to have another go. I bought a new journal and found some space in my sewing room to keep everything out so when I have an idea I can try it out.
I carved some very simple quilt blocks so I can stamp out some mini quilts.

I think these stamps would be fun to play around with on tea towels.
